Effective with the release of Klyn version 1.3.0.
Here's what changed in this update:
- Klyn is now a 16+ app. Klyn is intended for people aged 16 and over; people under 16 may not use Klyn, and users aged 16–17 need a parent or legal guardian's consent where local law requires it. Where an age-assurance law applies the store blocks under-16 users; everywhere else, you confirm you are 16 or older. See Sections 2 and 13.
- We added a dedicated "Age requirement" explanation for households. Everyone added to a household must be over 16 themselves, since the App has no way to add someone who hasn't passed this check on their own device. See Sections 2, 6.1, and 13.
- We reminded members that custom fields are their responsibility, with more detail on what to avoid. The household name, room names, and task names you type are shared with, and editable by, every member of your household; use them only for their intended purpose and do not enter personal or sensitive information into them. See Section 6.2.
- We explained why a lapsed subscription is visible to your household, and added a note on how a household stays active. A small marker shows other members if your Klyn+ subscription has lapsed, so the household knows when the admin role needs to pass to someone else — a household keeps running, and won't be disbanded, as long as at least one member stays subscribed. See Section 6.2.
- We reminded that Klyn makes no health or medical claims. Focus Mode (which we also describe as "ADHD-friendly") is a display preference, not a health feature: the App never claims to treat, diagnose, manage, or reduce ADHD or any other condition, it is not a medical device, and it contains no test, screener, or self-assessment. We also added a record of every description we use for Focus Mode and the App behaviour each one is based on. See Sections 7.4 and 7.5.
- We clarified our children's-privacy and age-assurance terms. Section 13 states plainly that the App is intended for users aged 16 and over, names the age-assurance laws we respond to (Texas SB 2420, Utah's App Store Accountability Act, and similar U.S. state laws), and explains that the App Store and Google Play verify a user's age category and obtain parental consent — sharing only a broad age category and approval status with the App, never a child's exact date of birth or precise age.
Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before downloading or using the Klyn mobile application, developed by Creative Adventures Lab ("we", "us", "our") (available on the App Store and Google Play, also referred to as "Klyn", the "App", or "Service"). By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
1. Description and Scope
Klyn is a household cleaning-routine application for iOS and Android devices. The App allows you, and optionally other members of your household, to:
- Build a personal task list across customisable rooms, with frequency, estimated minutes, custom emoji, tools, and steps;
- Track when each task was last completed and have the App schedule the next occurrence automatically;
- Run focused cleaning sessions of 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes ("energy levels");
- Maintain a streak counter, track your total completed sessions, and pause everything via Vacation Mode;
- Switch on a low-distraction "Focus Mode" (also called ADHD mode) for one-task-at-a-time presentation;
