Effective with the release of Klyn version 1.2.0

Here's what changed in this update:

• We renamed the app, and simplified how we refer to it. Tidy is now called Klyn — same developer (Creative Adventures Lab), same app .
• We added a new section on age-assurance features. The new Section 2.11 — Age Assurance Signals explains how the App reads an age signal from your device's operating system or app store (Apple Declared Age Range, Apple PermissionKit parental consent for significant app changes, and Google Play Age Signals) — entirely on your device. We never store, log, or transmit any age, age range, age category, or parental-consent record to our servers.
• We strengthened our protections for children's data around store-operated age verification and parental consent. See Section 11 — Children's Privacy.
• We corrected how we describe IP-address handling. Connecting to our servers necessarily exposes your device's IP address, at the network layer, to our infrastructure provider (Supabase). See Sections 1, 2.2, and 9.
• We clarified the age rules. See Section 11.
• We named the location of each third party we share data with. Section 5 now says where each provider is based (e.g. Supabase's infrastructure runs in a Zurich, Switzerland data centre; Apple, Google, and Expo are US-headquartered), instead of only naming the company.
• We added a server-side record that you've reviewed and agreed to this Policy and the Terms of Use. A single timestamped row — nothing more than your anonymous user ID, the app version, and the date — is created the first time you complete onboarding, and again each time you tap "I agree, continue" on an in-App legal-update notice. See Sections 2.2 and 6.

This Privacy Policy explains how Creative Adventures Lab ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the Klyn mobile application (available on the App Store and Google Play, also referred to as "Klyn" or "the App"). It also describes your rights under applicable data protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA").

Please read this policy carefully. By installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

Klyn is designed to be private by default and local-first. Your rooms, tasks, cleaning history, streaks, sessions, settings, and widget data are stored exclusively on your device — none of this content is stored on our servers when you use the App on your own.

If you choose to share a household with other people, the minimum data required to keep everyone in sync (the household name, an 8-character invite code, each member's chosen avatar name and avatar emoji, each member's join-request status — pending, approved, or rejected — task definitions, task assignments, completion timestamps, and, if you grant notification permission, your device's push token for household notifications) is stored on our backend so that all members of the same household see the same shared chore board in real time. This server-side storage is opt-in: it only happens after you tap "Create a household" or "Join with invite code".

The App uses anonymous authentication only. We do not offer Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, email/password sign-up, or any other identity-based login. Each device receives its own anonymous Supabase user; there is no concept of a Klyn "account" tied to your real-world identity.
