Version 2.1.0 — 5 September 2026.
- The minimum age has risen to 16, in line with the GDPR Article 8 age of digital consent. On iOS the App confirms your age category through Apple; where it gets no signal, it asks you to confirm directly with a checkbox and will not continue until you do. Making that confirmation falsely is a breach of these Terms. → Sections 2.1 and 2.2
- Accounts unused for 365 consecutive days are deleted, after a warning 7 days beforehand. Any unused scan credits are forfeited at that point — they have no cash value, are not refundable, and cannot be restored afterwards, including by reinstalling or by "Restore purchases". Active subscribers are exempt, and data stored only on your device is untouched. → Section 21.2
- Two new clauses about the App's content. Some field guide entries now carry a hazard warning, and Section 10.3 says what those warnings are and are not — above all, that an entry without one has not been checked and cleared. Section 12.1 says the written content is AI-generated and may be wrong: not just identifications, but the articles, the Real vs Fake comparisons, and the zodiac and birthstone pages. → Sections 10.3 and 12.1
- New reading material, what it costs, and what it is for. This version adds articles, astrological gem pages, and "Real vs Fake" comparisons. The "Real vs Fake" comparison guides are paid content and require an active subscription; the articles and the astrological gem pages are free. All of it is provided for general interest and entertainment only. It is not a professional or authoritative reference, and it should be double-checked against authoritative sources before you rely on any of it. → Sections 3 and 12.1
- Other changes. Section 2 has been rewritten — same requirement, set out in full: 2.1 is now eligibility, and 2.2 spells out the age-assurance flow step by step. → Sections 2.1 and 2.2. Our liability cap is now what you paid in the last 12 months or USD $100. Reminder that every photograph you submit must have a geological specimen as its main subject. → Sections 17.2 and 7.2

By downloading, accessing, installing, or using "Rock Identifier: Crystal & Gem" application also referred to as "the App", you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.
Rock Identifier: Crystal & Gem is an AI-powered identification application that analyzes user-submitted images to provide possible matches for rocks, minerals, fossils, stones, and crystals.
The App relies on third-party artificial intelligence services, including but not limited to:
- Google LLC (Gemini API and related services)
- Supabase (backend infrastructure)
By using this App, you consent to the use of these third-party services and their respective terms of service.
