Overview

Puro is a private cigar journal and collection tracker intended for adults of legal smoking age in their jurisdiction. The app does not advertise, endorse, or promote smoking in any way — it is simply a personal tracking tool for existing cigar enthusiasts.

Puro is built on a simple principle: your cigar collection is yours. The app is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not run advertising, we do not sell your data, and we do not track your behavior.

What We Collect and Why

Data you create in the app

Everything you enter — humidors, cigars, smoke session notes, ratings, tasting notes, photos — is stored locally on your device. This includes:

• Humidor names, settings, and notes
• Cigar details (brand, vitola, origin, price, quantity, aging dates)
• Smoke session journals (tasting notes, ratings, drink pairings, occasion)
• Cigar band photos

Camera and Photos

Puro requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you photograph cigar bands for identification and to attach images to your collection. Photos are stored locally in the app's private document directory. They are not transmitted to any server unless you explicitly use an AI-powered feature (see AI-Powered Features below).

Cloud Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable sync:

• iOS: Your collection is backed up to your personal iCloud account using iCloud Drive, in a private ubiquitous container (iCloud.<bundle-id>) that is not accessible to other apps or to us. Apple's standard iCloud privacy terms apply.
• Android: Your collection is backed up to the App Data folder of your Google account using the Google Drive API. This folder is invisible in the Google Drive UI, is accessible only by this app, is automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled, and does not count against your Drive storage quota. Google's standard Drive privacy terms apply.

In both cases, Puro never sees this data — it flows directly between your device and your personal cloud account. Cloud sync is opt-in only. If you do not enable it, nothing leaves your device.
